Gag order issued in Kansas women’s killings case

TEXAS COUNTY, Okla. (KSNW) – A gag order has been issued in the case of five people accused of killing two Kansas women.

On Wednesday, Paul Grice, Tifany Adams, Tad Cullum, and Cole and Cora Twombly appeared in court in Texas County, Oklahoma. The five are charged with killing and kidnapping Veronica Butler, 27, and Jilian Kelley, 39, of Hugoton, in late March. The victims’ bodies were found in rural Texas County.

Man accused in shooting at Goddard Walmart charged

The judge ordered a gag be placed on law enforcement, court personnel, and others involved in the case. The order bars them from talking about the case in public.

A full medical examiner’s report will also be sealed for another six months. It is set to be released on Nov. 15. The judge also denied the defense’s motion to seal search warrants, citing the Oklahoma Open Records Act.

The next court date is scheduled for June 19.
