FWC to host license-free freshwater fishing weekend. Here’s when

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida residents are encouraged to “reel in” amazing memories during a weekend full of license-free freshwater fishing.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is encouraging members of the community to cast their lines the weekend of April 6-7 to explore Florida’s recreational fishing opportunities.

“Florida offers an experience seen nowhere else in the world through its abundant fishing opportunities,” Tom Graef, FWC’s Director of the Division of Freshwater Fisheries Management, said. “License-free fishing weekends help residents and visitors alike connect with friends and family while enjoying the nature Florida has to offer.”
The FWC is hosting two events over the weekend to get fishers across the state to get outdoors and take advantage of a license-free fishing weekend.
Tenoroc Fish Management Area
Where: 3829 Tenoroc Mine Road, Lakeland, FL 33805
When: Saturday, April 6 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Registration: Call FWC at 863-648-3200, pre-registration is required (closes Friday, April 5)
Free lunch provided by Publix
A limited number of rods and bait are provided for free for kids ages 15 and younger
Florida Bass Convention Center
Where: 3583 County Road 788, Webster, FL 33597
When: Saturday, April 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
