Future Buckeye Colin White claims Ohio Mr. Basketball award

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — For the third time in four years, a future Ohio State basketball player received the state’s most coveted high school award.

Ottawa-Glandorf High School senior and future Buckeye Colin White has been named Ohio’s Mr. Basketball for 2024. During his high school career, White led the Titans to the OHSAA tournament all four years and will plat in the D-III semifinal on Friday against Harvest Prep from Canal Winchester.

This season, White has averaged nearly 25 points per game along with eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals. As a future Buckeyes, he is the third Mr. Ohio basketball since 2021 that will play for Ohio State, joining current Buckeyes Devin Royal (2023) and San Antonio Spurs guard Malaki Branham (2021).

Since 1988, nine former Ohio Mr. Basketball’s have been drafted into the NBA. Among those players include Branham, LeBron James, O.J. Mayo, and Jared Sullinger.
