Fur coats taken away from dead occupiers' wives after shooting propaganda video

Wives of soldiers from Donbas, who fought on the side of the Russian occupiers, were left without fur coats, which were supposedly given to them; the fur was taken away after filming of the thank-you video.

Details: After the video was released, Feminist Anti-War Resistance [Russian feminists group founded in February 2022 to protest against the Russian invasion of Ukraine – ed.] reportedly contacted one of the women in the video. She stated that her and at least three other women's fur coats were taken away immediately after the video was recorded.

According to her, at first the widows were told that the fur coats were of poor quality, promising to issue new ones soon. However, after numerous calls to the organiser of the distribution, the women were told that there had been a mistake and the fur coats were intended for other people.

Women were informed about the distribution of fur coats at work, they were promised expensive gifts from Moscow if they appeared in a video clip.

At the same time, it is noted that often the widows in such photos and videos turn out to be fake. "This often happens, something is brought from Moscow [as a ‘gift’ – ed.] and filmed, we are always grateful," said a member of the movement, but she did not specify how many real widows were invited to the distribution of fur coats.

Background: Earlier it was reported that 21 fur coats were distributed to the wives of the dead occupiers from the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic. In the video, the widows of those killed lined up in a row, thanking for the "help". "We unexpectedly received such help today. We are very grateful to you. Families of the killed soldiers gathered here. Truly, we thank you from the heart!" one of the women said. An off-screen male voice insisted that the fur coats came from a "Russian enterprise". "You feel that we are one family in such moments," says the man.

Previously: In July 2022, Russian propagandists broadcast a story about the father of an occupier from Saratov Oblast, Alexey Malov, who was killed in Ukraine; the man spent the funds he received after his son’s death on a new Lada car. "In memory of my son, we have bought a new car," the father proudly said then.
