Fun events planned for the weekend in Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It is finally Friday and you know what that means! It’s time to take a look at some of the events happening across the Memphis area this weekend.

For starters, do you want to show off your Memphis pride? Friday and Saturday you can check out the Choose 901 Spring Market at Crosstown Concourse. There will be new Memphis merchandise as well as local vendors set up. The market is open from noon until 8 p.m. Saturday is 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Cooper-Young Porchfest is on Saturday, April 20 from noon to 6 p.m. Staged on the eclectic porches of a historic neighborhood, this all-volunteer event will feature an eclectic mix of bands playing on residents’ front porches.

Saturday is the 22nd World Championship Hot Wing Contest and Festival. This event brings people from all over the world to Memphis to compete at the River Garden Park on Riverside Drive. Tickets start at $20.

Also, on Saturday, if you want to support this Memphis Tigers football team, head over to the spring game. Best of all, it’s free. The game is at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium. Gates for fans will open at 2 p.m. while kick-off is set for 3 p.m.

Sunday is the Rajun Cajun Crawfish Festival on Riverside Drive. There will be thousands of pounds of crawfish, live music, crafts, and games including crawfish racing, eating and bobbing. This is from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Admission is free but food and drinks cost extra.

Sunday is also the Memphis Mimosa Festival. This is at Tom Lee Park from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tickets start at $55.
