Full closure of southbound SR-163 from I-8 to I-5 Saturday

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — There will be a full closure of the southbound lanes of State Route 163 from Interstate 8 to Interstate 5 Saturday, Caltrans announced Thursday.

On Saturday from 3 a.m. to noon, crews will be picking up litter along the highway as well as trimming trees, removing brush and repairing damaged pavement.

Northbound SR-125 to close in Spring Valley starting Friday

Caltrans said the closure will include both eastbound and westbound I-8 ramps to southbound SR-163. The on-ramps at Washington Street and Robinson Avenue to southbound SR-163 will also be impacted.

Drivers traveling on eastbound I-8 may continue to the southbound I-5 connector ramp and follow the route to northbound SR-163.

People driving westbound on I-8 can continue to the southbound I-805 connector ramp and then take the southbound SR 15/westbound SR-94 to northbound I-5. From there, drivers can hop on to the SR-163 connector ramp.
