FTC reportedly finds Google did not violate antitrust laws
Earlier reports this week suggested that Google (GOOG) had entered settlement talks with the Federal Trade Commission to end an investigation regarding the alleged abuse of patents it acquired from Motorola. At the same time, federal regulators have also been investigating the company’s business practices after reports surfaced that claimed it unfairly promoted its own services over those of its competitors. After Google CEO Larry Page argued his case, however, government officials began to doubt whether its case against the company would hold up. According to a report from the New York Post, the FTC is said to be ready to close its 19-month investigation against Google without finding any antitrust violations. The Commission is expected to announce its decision before the end of the year.
