Soak in the untouched beauty of Ladakh.

Every once in a while, we get tired of staring at the beautiful wallpapers of exotic locations on our laptops and yearn for the real deal. Travel soothes our soul as we enjoy the beauty of mother nature. A little while back, our adventurous travel thirsty soul brought us to the Land of Endless Discoveries- Ladakh. Armed with a camera, we came face to face with places untouched by time and so spectacular in nature that they got etched in our memories forever.

Some say summer (April till September) is the best time to visit Ladakh while others swear by the snow covered vistas in winters (October till March) are a sight to behold. Baring a few days when heavy snowfall may make it difficult to travel, whatever time you choose to visit Ladakh it is an overwhelming experience as you lose track of time in this picturesque land.

With the advent of tourists, restaurants catering to a variety of palates are now open in Ladakh. One can relish on Tibetan, Chinese, Korean, Mediterranean & Kashmiri cuisine in restaurants easily found near the market area. Try Thupka- a thick soup with vegetable & noodles, steaming hot momos, freshly baked breads with fresh apricot jam and the famed butter tea for a different culinary experience.

For an unique experience, dine at the rooftop restaurant of The Grand Dragon that offers stunning views of the Himalayas.

Accommodation in Ladakh ranges from basic hotels, homestays that provide a local flavor, camping sites and three star hotels. There are only a couple of luxury hotels in Ladakh like The Grand Dragon & Shangri la Leh.

Trip to Ladakh costs approximately 50,000 INR per head if travelling by air. Adventure enthusiasts can explore the spectacular terrain on motorcycle too.

Tip:
