A group of Frozen fans wants more LGBT representation in their favorite franchise — and they're not afraid to sing it out.

Using the hashtag #GiveElsaAGirlfriend, tweeters are imploring Disney to give Queen Elsa a female love interest in the upcoming Frozen 2. If Disney follows their advice, it will be the first time (in forever) that a Disney movie features an LGBT princess (or queen, in Elsa's case).

17-year-old Alexis Isabel Moncada, who started the campaign, told NBC 12 that giving Elsa a girlfriend would be a great fit for Frozen, which already encourages honest self-expression.

“A lot of us see [Frozen] as a metaphor for coming out and accepting who you are,” she said.

Since Isabel started the hashtag last Saturday, thousands of people have tweeted their support — and their arguments are both compelling and full of delightful Frozen puns.

Disney has yet to respond to the campaign — but we have a feeling this hashtag is far from extinguished. The cold may not bother Frozen fans, but lack of representation? That's another story.
