The Front Row That Proved Dior Always Works

Kim Jones's turn at Dior has seen a reinvention of sorts. Several There was Japanese anime superhero-wear in Tokyo. The same can be said for the Miami pre-fall show, in which a collaboration with Shawn Stussy saw fluoro bucket hats and lots of graphic content (the good kind).

So, for the Paris A/W '20, a recasting once more. Jones paid tribute to the late stylist and founding father of the buffalo movement, Judy Blame, with a resulting procession of New Romantic-ism, berets, a couture take on buffalo DIY style, and lots of lovely opera gloves.

Which is distinctive in itself. But Jones' version of Dior Men's is one easily moulded to different palates, and the proof was in the front row. There was a streetwear interpretation of Dior in J Balvin, a classic interpretation of Dior in the Beckhams, and a hell-for-leather rockstar interpretation of Dior in the clothes of Robert Pattinson. There might be one creative director at the French maison, but there are multiple ways to wear it - here's every take from the absurdly star-studded front row.
