Friends of WCSO to hold second annual car show, fundraiser for Project Lifesaver

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) – Friends of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) will hold the second annual community car show and fundraising event on June 1 to raise money for Project Lifesaver.

Project Lifesaver places personalized GPS tracking devices on individuals who are known to wander off. The device helps caregivers and WCSO to locate these individuals, with an average rescue time of under 30 minutes. This technology combines WCSO’s tracking dogs, drones, and personnel to ensure a swift and efficient search and rescue operation.

The fundraising event will be in the WCSO front parking lot from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will be a limited number of car show entries available. The entry fee is $25 if registered by Friday, and $30 if registered on the day of the show. Those interested in entering the show can contact Cpt. Shawn Judy at 423-791-5174. ‘

“Last year’s car show was a huge success,” said Judy, who organized the event with Cpt. Randall Wines. “Our goal is to raise money to support our own community outreach programs, specifically Project Lifesaver.”

In addition to the car show, there will be food trucks and craft vendors, and Hollow Ground will provide music.

The Community Services Division will hand out tarps to the first 150 at the fundraiser as part of its “Secure Your Load” promotion.
