Friends of Scouting Breakfast set for June 12

LA GRANDE — The annual Friends of Scouting Breakfast is set for Wednesday, June 12, at the Riverside Park Pavilion in La Grande.

The breakfast will run from 6:30-7:45 a.m. and will feature several current and former Scouts who will talk about what scouting means in their lives.

The Friends of Scouting Breakfast is an annual fundraiser for local troops. Ticket are $25 per person, which covers the cost of the meal and venue. People coming are encouraged make donations in addition to what they will spend per ticket.

Each breakfast ticket comes with a raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased for $5 and packages of five will be sold for $20. The tickets will be used for a silent auction for a number of outdoor items.

People who plan to attend are asked to RSVP by Tuesday, June 3, to let organizers know how many people to plan for. Either call 541-963-4650 and leave a message or RSVP online at www.bsuc.org.

Ticket also may be paid for by check via the mail. Make checks payable to Blue Mountain Council and mail to them to Jeff Crews, P.O. Box 656, La Grande, OR 97850.

Memorial Day observed at Summerville ceremony

SUMMERVILLE — A Memorial Day ceremony will be held on Monday, May 27, at the Summerville Cemetery.

The event starts at 8 a.m. sharp, according to organizers.

A military colors ceremony will begin the ceremony, which will be attended by the American Legion Riders and the Imbler/Summerville Rural Fire Department.

The public is encouraged to attend.
