Friends of Johnson City Public Library to host book sale: children’s books, CDs and more

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – The Friends of the Johnson City Public Library will host a book sale on April 27 at the library’s Jones Meeting Center.

The book sale will feature thousands of donated items, the Friends of the Library announced in a release.

The sale will be on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, April 28, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Johnson City Public Library will close in April for renovations

Although the library will be undergoing renovations, the release said customers can enter the sale through the meeting center’s exterior doors, which are located on the side of the library near the curbside pickup spots.

“We are excited about the library’s renovations, but we’re even more excited to announce that the book sale is still on! We have a huge selection of adult and children’s books, DVDs, CDs and even puzzles,” Friends Book Sale Committee Chair Kathy Hall said.

The sale deals are listed below, provided by the release:

  • paperbacks – $1

  • hardbacks – $3

  • children’s picture books – 2 for $1

  • children’s chapter books – $1

  • CDs – 4 for $1

  • DVDs – $1

  • library tote bag full of books – $25

The Sunday sale will also have a $5 bag sale. Bags will be provided at the sale.

All funds from the sale will go towards the Johnson City Public Library, the release said.

According to the release, Friends of the Library members are invited to a preview sale on Friday, April 26, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The Friends of the Johnson City Public Library is a volunteer group that is accepting new members. Those who are interested in learning more can visit Friends of the Library—Johnson City Public Library (jcpl.org) or speak with a volunteer at the book sale.
