Friend remembers Ozark mother killed in car crash, prays for daughter in critical condition

DALE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — Kiera Doster who was planning to see and spend time with her friend Kimberly Ingram this weekend is heartbroken after learning from social media, that her friend lost her life in a car crash.

“I was at work this morning and I tended to scroll on Facebook and I could not do anything when I came across it, I just dropped everything and started crying because I couldn’t believe it,” Doster said. “She meant everything to me she was more than just a friend she was my sister. “

Ingram was killed after her car veered off the road and hit a tree around the 40-mile marker on Highway 27 close to the Fort Novosel range operation around midnight.

According to the Dale County Coroner’s office, Ingram was wearing a seatbelt but speed was a factor in the crash.

“All I know is I was on the phone with her last night and I told her I loved her for the last time she told me she was heading home and then I woke up to this news,” Doster said.

Ingram’s daughter was also in the car but the three-year-old is currently fighting for life in a Birmingham hospital — heartbreaking to Doster.

“Kim lost her life and her daughter is fighting for hers and that makes me sad,” She said. “That little girl meant everything to Kim she did everything for her.”

Doster and Ingram were planning to hang out this weekend to catch up after being busy with work

They have been friends for four years and Doster says Ingram was there for her when no one else was.

“When we met she was an outgoing sweet person and the type of person to give you anything she had like the shirt off her back,” She said.

The crash is being investigated by state troopers.
