Friday party to kick off a new era for a more than 40-year-old Bradley Fair retailer

Julie Lair had a plan when she bought Lyndons, the longtime clothing store at Bradley Fair.

That was in 2016, and her plan is just now coming together, but that’s OK, because she’s used to waiting.

“I always wanted to be in fashion,” Lair said.

On her path to that, though, she was a school teacher, a social worker and a mother.

Finally, she was able to buy the Bradley Fair store, which is now more than 40 years old, and she had a five-year plan to completely overhaul the interior.

“That was kind of my benchmark,” Lair said of the five-year mark.

Then the pandemic hit.

Now, however, she’s reopening the store on Friday with new floors, walls, fixtures and even a new ceiling along with a fresh logo.

“It was a little later, but we got it together,” Lair said.

The reopening party is from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday with cocktails and giveaways, and everyone is invited, she said.

Along with the updated store, Lair said she’s made some other changes along the way.

She said since she had high-school-aged daughters, she started carrying younger items at lower price points. Now, moms and daughters can shop together, she said.

Lair said her clientele is diverse. She said she’s most thankful for Lyndons longtime, faithful client base, and she said, “We’ve picked up some great people along the way.”
