FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Fresno’s Brewery District will soon have a new glow to its ambiance.

City officials say they will install string lights in the Brewery District to adorn the skies along Fulton Street – between Inyo and Mono streets.

“We want residents to be proud of their downtown,” said Mayor Jerry Dyer. “The addition of lights will help transform the Brewery District and give that vibrant nightlife look to an area that is growing in popularity.”

Workers will install foundations, string lighting, and poles to hold them. The work will result in the relocation of several parking meters and sidewalk repairs in some areas.

“Creating a safe and inviting environment is our focus and the string lights will help achieve this vision. We look forward to the installation and the potential for additional string light installations along more sections of the Fulton Street corridor,” said Councilmember Miguel Arias.

City officials say the project is being funded by the American Rescue Plan Act and will take about four weeks to complete.
