FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 25-year-old man was in court on Thursday to answer to a murder charge for his alleged involvement in the fentanyl poisoning death of a 34-year-old woman in Fresno last year.

Antwane Dupree Lee was arraigned Thursday morning inside Fresno County Superior Court. He pleaded not guilty to the charges, which include:

  • One count of murder.

  • Two counts of possession for sale of a controlled substance.

  • One count of sale or offer to sell a controlled substance.

  • One count of transport for the sale of a controlled substance.

Lee’s bail was set at $1.2 million.

The charges follow Antwane Dupree Lee’s alleged involvement in the death of 34-year-old Vernisha Latriece Green of Fresno in 2023. Authorities say Lee allegedly sold Green pills containing fentanyl that killed her.

Lee’s next court date is set for June 27.
