Fresh Market hires Jeffrey Ackerman as new chief financial officer
GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) -- The Fresh Market Inc. said Monday that it has appointed Jeffrey Ackerman as its executive vice president and chief financial officer of the specialty grocery chain.
Ackerman, 50, will begin his new job in June. He worked most recently as executive vice president and chief financial officer of mattress maker Sealy Corp.
Fresh Market's prior CFO left the company in December for a job at a privately held clothing company. The company said in a statement that Ackerman's selection came after a national search and that it is pleased to have found someone with his strong leadership skills and financial expertise.
Fresh Market is a specialty grocery chain based in Greensboro, N.C., that operates 131 stores in 25 states.
