Free Thanksgiving dinners offered at Harford County locations beginning this week

Nov. 14—Whether you're struggling to get through the holidays or just don't want to eat dinner alone, several groups in Harford County have joined together to provide free Thanksgiving dinners to county residents.

Hot meal and turkey giveaway this Thursday

Peace Healthcare in Forest Hill will hold its fall harvest community meal and turkey giveaway on Thursday.

A hot meal will be served from 1-3 p.m. From 3-5 p.m. or until supplies last, residents may pick up a frozen turkey and other food items to prepare a Thanksgiving Day meal.

The event also gives residents an opportunity to learn about Peace Healthcare's substance abuse treatment and mental health services.

Giving thanks with your neighbors

No plans for Thanksgiving? Join your community at a free Thanksgiving dinner from 2-4 p.m. on Nov. 23 at Aberdeen's The Epicenter, 21 Aberdeen Shopping Plaza.

Bring the entire family for a homemade meal provided by The Epicenter, Mountain Christian Church, St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Ashley Addiction Treatment and Wegmans.

Dinner to go

Get your dinner to go in Edgewood at a dinner provided by the HMR Village at Lakeview Neighborhood Network and a host of community partners. Dinners must be ordered in advance no later than Friday, for pickup on Thanksgiving Day.

The dinners will be available for pickup between 11 a.m. and noon on Nov. 23 at 833 Fisherman Lane.

To reserve your meal, call 410-679-0473 and leave a message with the following information: name, address (including town), phone number, number of dinners needed, and whether it will be for pickup or delivery. A volunteer will return your call and confirm your order.

Dinners will also be available for delivery if requested in advance; no same-day delivery requests will be accepted.

11th annual Havre de Grace dinner for Harford and Cecil County residents

The Community Projects of Havre de Grace Thanksgiving Committee will host its 11th annual dinner on Thanksgiving Day at the Havre de Grace Community Center, 100 Lagaret Lane.

Dine in, delivery and carryout options will be available. Meal delivery for Harford and Cecil counties will be from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Dine in and carryout will be available from 12-2 p.m., while supplies last.

Volunteers are also needed to help prepare, pack, serve and deliver the meals. Preparation and packing the meals will be from 8 a.m. until noon at the Community Center. Volunteers will be needed starting at 9:30 a.m. to deliver meals.
