Free meals offered to kids at Urbana schools this summer

URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — The Urbana School District is offering free breakfast and lunch this summer.

The free meals are for children 18-years-old and younger through the Summer Meal Program, the school district said in a news release. Kids do not have to be enrolled in summer school or even attend an Urbana school to get a meal.

There are no income requirements or registration requirements for the program. Individuals who are 18 or older with a state-defined mental or physical disability will also be provided with free meals.
