Free breakfast, lunch program launches at Iredell-Statesville Schools
Iredell-Statesville schools welcome students back to the halls today. It’s also the first day of the pilot program providing some students with free and reduced meals.
The Community Eligibility Provision plan includes 18 schools in Iredell County that will launch a complimentary breakfast and lunch program in the 2023-2024 school year.

All students enrolled in these schools are eligible to participate in the program at no charge:

This comes off the heels of a community initiative in July that raised more than $32,000 through the “A Clean Slate for a Full Plate” initiative, clearing student lunch debt from the last school year.
“We are so thankful for the support of our community,” said Superintendent Dr. Jeff James. “I’m glad our elected officials are continuing to put school nutrition at the forefront of meeting the needs of our community.”
