Frankie Muniz reveals he has severe memory loss, Bryan Cranston promises to help

Malcolm in the Middle star Frankie Muniz has led a seemingly perfect life, but on Dancing With the Stars he revealed he suffers from severe memory loss.

Muniz revealed, “I have gotten to do anything I wanted to do, but I don’t remember much of that. It almost feels like it wasn’t me. There’s no negative feelings; I just don’t necessarily remember.”

Earlier in the season, Muniz revealed he broke his back while auto racing. On this episode he elaborated on his health saying, “I have had nine concussions, a fair amount of mini-strokes — TIAs as they’re called, transient ischemic attack. I’m not saying those things correlate exactly to the reason why my memory is not great. I guess if you think about it, it could be.”

In order to combat Muniz’s memory loss, his girlfriend, Paige Price, keeps a daily journal so he can look back through his memories on paper.

And as for his forgotten days on Malcolm in the Middle, his former co-star Bryan Cranston said, “I told him not to worry about what you remember, what you don’t remember. It will be my job. I will tell him, ‘Remember this, remember that, on Malcolm? What a life for you.'”

Despite losing his memory, Muniz said, “I’m happy with my acting career. I’m happy with the decision I made to race cars and to focus on music. Even if I don’t remember, I’m happy.”
