Frankfort High School's press box fire ruled accidental
FRANKFORT, Ind. — An electrical issue caused the Halloween night fire at the Frankfort High School football press box, according to a news release published Monday night.
Officially, the fire investigation determined the blaze was accidental, according to the news release.
"With this ruling, the community schools of Frankfort can now move forward with plans to demolish the damaged press box and construct a new facility in its place," stated the news release from the school corporation and the fire department.
A passerby saw the fire and called it in about 9:15 p.m. Oct. 31, according to Frankfort Fire Department. Arriving firefighters found the press box fully engulfed and began a defensive fight against the blaze, Frankfort Fire Chief Matt Stidham said in last week's news release.
No one was injured in the fire.
