Frank Priddy wins Raleigh County Sheriff’s race

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — Longtime law enforcement officer Frank Priddy is the presumed sheriff-elect, after the May primary election on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

Priddy, won the majority of the vote in the GOP primary, defeating incumbent J.C. Canaday and challenger Randy White.

There are no Democratic contenders for the sheriff’s office, which means he will have no contender in the upcoming November general election.

“I’m very thankful to the voters of Raleigh County that have faith in me,” said Priddy. “I’m doing this to work. I’m actually doing it to get some stuff, so I’m going to press on and do a lot of good things.”

Priddy said he plans to place more deputies on patrol and to increase the number of deputies in the remote areas of Raleigh County.
