France to supply Ukraine with more Aster 30 anti-air missiles

Paris will deliver another batch of Aster 30 surface-to-air missiles to Ukraine for its SAMP/T air defense systems (previously supplied by France and Italy), French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced on May 14.

The announcement was reported by the BBC.

Lecornu made the statement about sending additional missiles to Ukraine during a parliamentary hearing. Additional Aster missiles would enable Ukraine to continue using SAMP/T systems to counter Russian missile strikes

Earlier on May 14, French President Emmanuel Macron had promised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that additional French weaponry would be sent to Kyiv soon.
