France, Germany to meet Ukraine opposition, govt

PARIS (AP) — The French foreign minister says he and his counterparts from Germany and Poland will travel to Ukraine to meet with government and opposition figures ahead of an emergency meeting of European Union.

Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius told reporters Wednesday in a joint appearance with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry that they would "meet tomorrow the different actors in Kiev." He said hopefully they "will find a way for dialogue."

After Kiev, the ministers will fly immediately to Brussels for the emergency meeting on Thursday that will consider sanctions against those who started the deadly violence in Ukraine.
