Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock Season 2 — interviews with Fraggles Mokey and Red (EXCLUSIVE)

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4) — Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock Season 2 is premiering on Apple TV+ March 29, and is set to feature the returning cast of Jim Henson creatures from Season One as well as the original series which debuted back in 1983.

This season, the focus is on teaching kids about climate change and food scarcity, in addition to bringing special guests such as Ariana DeBose, Brett Goldstein, Adam Lambert, and many more.

ABC4 film critic Patrick Beatty had the chance to sit down with two Fraggles, Mokey & Red, to discuss what they’ve been up to down in Fraggle Rock, as well as what they think of us “Silly Creatures” — humans.

Asking about what they’ve been up to in Fraggle Rock, Red started by saying, “So much! Yes, some fun, some challenging.”

Mokey chimed in: “The wind storm, challenging. The Twisty turney-thon, Radish Ball was fun.”

Red answered, “Oh yeah. Amazing. I realized I could leave the path that I was running on thanks to Wembley and discover amazing new things, including that I didn’t have to win to have fun. That was pretty amazing.”

Mokey noted the power of teamwork: “Yes, that was really big for you, Red. We learned about solving problems by working together. We learned about sometimes going back to the past to find the solution to your problem today.”

Red answered, “And we hung out with the Gords!”

Mokey replied, “Yeah, Wild!”

Beatty finished the interview by asking what he and his fellow silly creatures could learn from Mokey and Red down in Fraggle Rock, and Mokey knew just what to say.

“The importance of listening to each other, and being open to new experiences. Asking for help when you need it, yes. Very important — hard to do,” Mokey answered.

Red replied, “And sometimes when things get tough, you just got to have an ugly cry — and let it all out! Then look to your friends to help you through your challenges, lots of big learning.”
