Fox News Says Men Just Want Nice Women
Fox News ignited Twitter early Thursday morning after they alerted people about a new article titled, “Most men just want a woman who's nice.” Netizens were quick to point out Fox News is battling sexual assault allegations, paying $45 million in settlements since the middle of 2016, USA Today reported.
Former chairman Roger Ailes was ousted last year after there were more than 20 claims of sexual misconduct. He denied the charges of sexual harassment, leaving the company with a settlement of $40 million. Television host Bill O’Reilly was fired from the network last month after he too was accused of sexual harassment. Like Ailes, he denied the claims.
The irony that Fox News paid million to settle sexual harassment cases and then sent an alert about nice women was not lost on Twitter users. “And most women just want to do their jobs without getting sexually harassed @FoxNews,” Twitter user Lauren Combs wrote. “This isn't news fox. F-- outa here,” another wrote.

The article was an opinion piece written by Suzanne Venker. “At the end of the day, most men just want a woman who’s nice. ‘Nice,’ to a man, means being soft, gentle and kind. It means asking your husband how his day was and really listening,” Venker wrote. “It means doing something nice for him with no expectation of getting something in return—you know, the way you did when you were dating.”
She then added women don’t want a man who’s nice in return. “Most women do want a man who’s kind, but that’s not the same as nice. Ask any guy you know, and he’ll likely give you example after example of women they know who said they wanted a nice guy but in reality wanted a bad boy. That’s because just as most men are attracted to femininity, or softness, most women are attracted to masculinity. And masculinity is hard. Gruff. Take charge,” Venker wrote.
She then went on to describe the differences between niceness. “A lot of women think they’re nice because they act nice,” Venker penned. “But acting nice and being nice are two different things. Being nice means you think of others before you think about yourself. (And yes, there’s such thing as being too nice and putting your needs last; but I’m not talking about that.) It means you’re attune to the needs of others and incorporate those needs into the equation.”
