Ahead of Super Tuesday election results, political commentator Marc Thiessen argued on Fox News that the only person less popular than President Biden is former President Trump.

Thiessen joined former White House Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley, who served under the Trump administration, to discuss the policies and electability of each of the likely nominees as they each are handily winning their respective primaries.

The Fox News pundit argued that people will turn out to support Biden, even if his approval rating is low and he seems unpopular with voters.

“The American people, if you think – everything I said about Joe Biden’s numbers, it’s disastrous, he’s the most unpopular president in history. If you think he can’t win, I got two words for you: Senator Fetterman,” Thiessen said Tuesday in comments highlighted by Mediaite.

He continued, arguing that “voters have said that if they don’t like the GOP alternative, they will vote for a guy who just had a stroke, who had a debate where he couldn’t put a coherent sentence together” pointing to Sen. John Fetterman’s (D-Pa.) 2022 win and the stroke he had during his campaign.

“The only person who is less popular than Joe Biden is Donald Trump,” Thiessen said. “A lot of people don’t want this choice. And so, it could go either way.”

After the clip aired, Trump took to his Truth Social site to post about Thiessen, a former top aide to former President George W. Bush.

The former president called him a “RINO Bush apologist” and said the Fox News commentator was “wrong about me in 2016, and in 2020 I got more votes than any sitting President in history.”
