The Fox News Pundit Julian Assange's Mom Fears Most

Lots of things keep Julian Assange's mom up at night, but an increasingly nagging thorn in her side is Fox News national security analyst KT McFarland. In a wide-ranging interview with RT, the Kremlin-backed network that also happens to broadcast Julian's The World Tomorrow talk show—Christine Assange said she fears for her son's life thanks to McFarland's insistent calls for his execution:

RT: Do you think that your son’s life is in danger?

CA: Absolutely. From the beginning, US politicians and news commentators were screaming out for his murder in the most brutal way. There seemed to be no filter at all in how they were feeling; calling out for brutal forms of murder, inciting murder against my son. And still in the last few weeks – I think it was the Fox News presenter Kathleen McFarland (Fox News' National Security Analyst) who was screaming out for Julian’s execution. This is somebody who has not broken the law and has done nothing but what any good investigative journalism would do – just to bring truth to the people – and has won very many awards for that.

Of course, many conservative commentators have advanced similar, even less legal, ideas for Assange. (He should be "garroted in his hotel room," as The National Review's Jonah Goldberg delicately put it.) But it appears Fox's analyst, a former Pentagon flack in the '80s, has been ahead of the game. Here she is back in 2010 writing a column titled "Yes, WikiLeaks Is a Terrorist Organization and the Time to Act Is NOW" which demanded the Obama administration stop pussyfooting around with this secret leaking upstart. "It's time to up the charges. Let's charge him and try him for treason. If he's found guilty, he should be executed," she said. Here she is again speaking at leadership forum in January boasting about how she "came out immediately" against WikiLeaks. "I actually got threats from that," she said as the audience applauded.

Well, now it seems she's earned the fear of Assange's  mother, who is one of the primary unofficial spokespersons for WikiLeaks now that her son is surrounded by police officers who want to arrest him. Congratulations? You can see Christine's entire interview below:
