Fox News Finishes No. 1 in Daytime Among Cable Networks

Fox News Channel finished No. 1 in total day viewers by averaging 1.17 million viewers during the week ending May 1. FNC also had a strong showing during prime time, finishing No. 2 overall behind only the NBA Playoff-heavy TNT.

Nickelodeon, Adult Swim, TNT and HGTV join Fox News among the Top 5 networks in total day viewers, while FNC rivals CNN and MSNBC finished No. 10 and 16, respectively.

ESPN, USA and HGTV join FNC and TNT among the prime time Top 5.

Fox News was boosted by Tuesday’s Acela Primary, which averaged 3 million total viewers. CNN ranked No. 7 in prime time with 1.2 million viewers and MSNBC ranked No. 13 in prime time with 885,000 viewers.

In addition, Fox Business Network’s “Varney & Company” beat CNBC in total viewers for the first time ever. Despite the big win for Varney, CNBC finished higher overall.
