Fox News Exec Drags Seth MacFarlane for Trashing Network
Fox News and Fox Business senior vice president Michael Tammero was not impressed with Seth MacFarlane’s recent criticism of the network, ripping the “Family Guy” creator on Twitter for saying he was “embarrassed” by Fox News hosts like Tucker Carlson.
“Yet… NOT quite embarrassed enough to not cash that check … isn’t that right,” said Tammero in a quote tweet, which also tagged MacFarlane just to be certain he saw it.
Tammero, who oversees marketing for Fox News and Fox Business, is one of the longest-tenured executives at the network, having joined in 1998.

In addition to his corporate role, Tammero also works as an entertainment reporter for the channel.
MacFarlane, who has created shows like “Family Guy,” “American Dad,” and “The Orville for Fox, took issue with a line from Tucker Carlson, who urged his viewers not to trust news from outlets other than Fox News. The line was flagged by CNN media reporter Brian Stelter.
MacFarlane called it “fringe s—.”
“In other words, don’t think critically, don’t consult multiple news sources, and in general, don’t use your brain. Just blindly obey Fox News,” he tweeted. “This is fringe s—, and it’s business like this that makes me embarrassed to work for this company.”

As TheWrap previously reported, however, MacFarlane’s disgust with the behavior of Fox News is likely coming to an end. His portfolio under 21st Century Fox is likely to be among the assets sold to Disney or Comcast, as the company moves to divest itself from the bulk of it’s non-news and sports content.
Reps for Fox News did not immediately respond to requests for comment from TheWrap.
