Fox News Condemns ‘Violent Threats and Intimidation’ Against Tucker Carlson
Fox News condemned a protest that took place outside the Washington D.C. residence of host Tucker Carlson on Wednesday evening, in which demonstrators chanted and threw things at the home.
In a statement on Thursday, Fox News called the incident “reprehensible” and called for a “more inclusive national conversation”
The incident that took place at Tucker’s home last night was reprehensible. The violent threats and intimidation tactics toward him and his family are completely unacceptable. We as a nation have become far too intolerant of different points of view. Recent events across our country clearly highlight the need for a more civil, respectful, and inclusive national conversation. Those of us in the media and in politics bear a special obligation to all Americans, to find common ground.

On Wednesday evening, protesters showed up at Carlson’s home, chanting threatening slogans, including a reminder that they knew where he lived.
“We are outside your home to protest your fascism and racism,” said an unnamed man off camera, before several began chanting in unisons “We know where you sleep at night.”

Carlson was not home at the time of the incident, but his wife was in the kitchen at the time.

“I called my wife,” Carlson told the Washington Post. “Someone started throwing himself against the front door and actually cracked the front door.”
Carlson’s wife, Susan Andrews, hid in the pantry and called 9-1-1 over what she thought was a home invasion. The couple also have four children, none of whom were home at the time, the Post reported.
The protest was strongly condemned, with even Fox News’ ferocious critics saying that the intimidation tactics were unacceptable and counterproductive.
“This behavior is way over the line,” said Media Matters fellow Matthew Gertz. “Going to someone’s home, breaking their door, and terrorizing their family is unacceptable. It’s also extremely counterproductive if your interest is actually in reducing his influence.”

“Late Show” host Stephen Colbert also said that it was “an act of monstrous cowardice.”
Fighting Tucker Carlson’s ideas is an American right. Targeting his home and terrorizing his family is an act of monstrous cowardice. Obviously don’t do this, but also, take no pleasure in it happening. Feeding monsters just makes more monsters.
