Fox News Anchor Bret Baier Hangs With Trump at Mar-a-Lago During Thanksgiving Weekend

Fox News anchor Bret Baier and his wife, Amy, enjoyed some R&R this Thanksgiving weekend down in Florida — and even got face time with Donald Trump at the president’s private Mar-a-Lago estate.

A photo uploaded to the Instagram account of @Cliolipton Saturday evening showed the Baiers with Trump alongside Jack Nicklaus and the golf legend’s wife, Barbara.

“Fun with POTUS! And THE Nicklaus’s, and the Baiers,” the caption reads.

The Instagram account of @Cliolipton did not respond to inquiries from TheWrap Sunday afternoon.

According to a spokesperson for Fox News, Baier and his wife attended a dinner at Mar-a-Lago as a guest of Nicklaus: “He was asked to take a photo with Nicklaus and the President and obliged.”

Despite giving 19 interviews to Fox News as president, Trump has pointedly refused to sit down with Baier, a matter the anchor has publicly complained about.

“It has been 300 days since Donald Trump appeared on ‘Special Report’ for an interview,” said Baier in an August broadcast, which also included a personal appeal.

“President Trump,” he said addressing him directly. “I assume you know you will be treated fairly here and of course asked tough but fair questions. I look forward to getting you back on the number one news show on the number one news channel very soon.”

In September, Baier told the Hollywood Reporter that an interview was coming and that team Trump had reached out and his people were “trying to find a date that works.”

“Hopefully it’s going to come together here in the next couple of weeks,” said Baier.

So is a Baier-Trump summit in the works? It’s possible, although a person familiar with the matter said the photo was just a coincidence and that Baier was in the area over the holiday weekend for a round of golf with Nicklaus.

Still, the image reconfirms Trump’s longstanding and cozy relationship to Fox News stars.

As TheWrap previously reported, Trump held an intimate White House dinner for “Fox & Friends” co-host Pete Hegseth and the show’s former executive producer Jennifer Rauchet in October. The dinner also included Fox News contributor Robert J. O’Neill and his wife.

The president is a passionate fan of the cable news channel, regularly watching “Fox & Friends,” and frequently providing his own commentary on segments via Twitter.

Before his election, Trump also routinely appeared on the program where he gained national attention for propagating false claims that President Obama was not born in the United States.
