'Fox and Friends' apologizes for showing images of Kamala Harris while discussing a suspected killer
Fox and Friends issued an on-air apology after an image of Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., was shown onscreen during a report about a suspected killer.
The error occurred Tuesday while news anchor Jillian Mele was detailing the murder of University of Utah student Lauren McCluskey by alleged gunman Melvin S. Rowland, who was also a registered sex offender. As she said that the “suspect” was “found dead after shooting himself in a church,” Harris’s image covered the screen.

If you follow the logic that one time is a mistake and two times is a choice, as the report continued, another photo of Harris appeared on the screen — this time showing her with a schoolchild.
The network later issued an apology (“In an earlier version of this story … we showed you pictures of Sen. Kamala Harris instead of Melvin Rowland’s mug shot. We apologize for that error”), but that didn’t silence reaction from Twitter.
Wait, Fox News falsely associated a Black person with crime? https://t.co/Ao9n5chz93
