Fox’s Cowboys-Packers Game Draws Season-Best 28M Viewers

Fox’s marquee NFL game Sunday between the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers drew 28 million total viewers and a 15.8/30 rating. That makes the Cowboys’ convincing 30-16 victory on the road the season’s most-watched and highest-rated game on any network, according to Nielsen stats.

The game, which aired in the late-afternoon window as Fox’s America’s Game Of The Week, featured two of the league’s most popular teams, and saw the Tony Romo-less Cowboys move to 5-1 on the season behind rookie quarterback Dak Prescott. Through three weeks, Fox’s AGOTW is averaging a 14.7/29 with 26 million viewers.

By comparison, NBC’s primetime Sunday Night Football saw its latest matchup, the Indianapolis Colts vs the Houston Texans, net 13.6M viewers and a 4.9/16 rating in final numbers Sunday. It metered market rating (9.0/15) marked a season low for SNF and was the worst it had seen in nearly five years.
