Fourteen Months After Florida Teen Disappears at Sea, Mother Posts Touching Tribute on Instragram

Fourteen months after the disappearance of two Florida teens, Pamela Cohen took to Instagram on Sunday to post a sweet photo of her son.

"14 Months without you my love. You will FOREVER be my ALWAYS.... #perryjcohenfoundation #bestboy #PJCF #wemissperry #loveyoumoretodaythanyesterday."

Cohen describes herself on Instagram as "Perry's Mom FOREVER" and created the Perry J. Cohen Foundation with her husband, Nicholas Korniloff, in September 2015 after her son went missing in July.

The foundation's mission is to raise "awareness and education" for the "safe enjoyment of recreational boating, fishing, and water sports."

In May, Cohen told PEOPLE she visited her son's bedroom at least once a day.

"I lay in his bed, talk to him, look at his picture every day," she said.

"There is no relief from it. It wasn't a car accident or a drug overdose or a shooting where you know what happened. My son just vanished," she said.

The boat her son and his friend, Austin Stephanos, were on was recovered in March, along with personal affects and Austin's iPhone.

The Coast Guard eventually ended the public search for the boys on July 31, but the families' private search stretched into early August.

"The one thing out of all of this that I can only ever say that I'm happy about is that I knew that he knew that he was loved," Cohen said in May. "And I know that he loved me. I don't think that every parent really ever knows that. We had an amazing spiritual connection from the time he was born – and I know that he wanted to come home that day."
