Four people, including an infant, critically injured in Jackson Co. crash

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WDHN) — Four people, including an infant, were critically injured in a car crash Friday night in Jackson County.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a vehicle carrying four Alabama residents was traveling northbound on State Road 73 near Cottondale on Friday night.

Officials say the car tried to pass another vehicle when it went into the southbound lane. The car then left the roadway, moving onto a grass shoulder until it hit a tree. The car continued moving before hitting another tree.

In the vehicle was a man, a woman, an 11-year-old boy, and a 1-year-old boy.

The infant was transported by helicopter to a hospital in Tallahassee, Florida, with life-threatening injuries.

The other three victims were rushed to a hospital in Dothan with life-threatening injuries.

Reports show that three of the victims were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
