Four people, including firefighters, injured in Steelton apartment fire

STEELTON, Pa. (WHTM) – Four people, including two firefighters, were injured as flames ripped through an apartment building in Steelton.

Firefighters were called to 103 North Second Street around 5 a.m.

Photos provided to abc27 News show heavy damage to the second floor of the duplex-turned-apartment building.

According to Swatara Fire Rescue, firefighters arrived and learned there may be individuals trapped inside the building. Swatara Fire Rescue says two of their firefighters sustained burn injuries during the response. One was treated and cleared at the scene, and the other was taken to a local hospital, treated, and released.

Four families were displaced, according to the Steelton Fire Department, and two residents were taken to local hospitals.

The Dauphin County Fire Investigation Team is investigating the cause. Swatara Fire Rescue says they were on the scene for more than five hours on Saturday.

According to Diane McNaughton, a Communications Specialist for Dauphin County, the coroner reported no fatalities as of Monday morning.
