Four Penn State wrestlers named Hodge Trophy finalists. Here’s where to vote for the winner

The 2024 NCAA Wrestling Championships ended with Penn State winning four individual titles, and now all four of those winners have added another accolade.

Levi Haines, Carter Starocci, Aaron Brooks and Greg Kerkvliet are four of the five finalists for the Hodge Trophy — the award given to the top college wrestler every year.

The four Nittany Lions are joined by Northern Iowa’s Parker Keckeisen.

Haines went undefeated this season for Penn State on his way to winning the Big Ten and NCAA titles at 157 pounds, while racking up bonus points in 65.2% of his 23 victories.

Brooks also went undefeated on his path to NCAA and Big Ten championships at 197 pounds, earning bonus points 90.9% of his 22 matches.

Kerkvliet was the third Nittany Lion to go undefeated and win conference and national titles, doing it at heavyweight. He had bonus points in 70% of his 20 matches.

Starocci is the lone Penn Stater who didn’t finish undefeated — however, his only two losses in his 19 matches came via injury default at Big Tens. He returned in time for NCAAs and went on to win the national title at 174 pounds despite not being fully healthy. He earned bonus points in 64.7% of his 17 victories this season.

Voting is done by national media, previous winners (one vote for each year they’ve won the award), a retired college coach from each region, a representative of each national wrestling organization and a fan vote that accounts for five first-place votes.

Fans can vote for the award on WIN Magazine’s website.
