Four men arrested on gun charges during traffic stop in Dare County

DARE COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) — Four men were arrested during a traffic stop in Dare County on gun charges on April 9, officials said.

Around 5:30 p.m., the Dare County Sheriff’s Office and Nags Head Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a registration violation near a Sonic in Nags Head. Law enforcement recovered three handguns and marijuana from the individuals. One of the guns was converted to fully automatic.

18-year-old Jaques Barcliff, 21-year-old Mykele Roberts, 22-year-old Sayqwan Jones and 20-year-old Anthony Coley were all charged with possessing a weapon of mass destruction.

Jones was additionally charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and resisting arrest. Coley also received additional charges of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of marijuana.
