Four local high school students receive The Girl Scouts Gold Award

SOUTH CAROLINA (WJBF) – Four local high school students have received the highest achievement within the Girl Scouts: The Gold Award.

In Aiken, Claire Woodworth, along with a team, painted address numbers on street curbs to help first responders find locations quickly during emergencies.

In Lexington, Kendall Brown built 10 birdhouses for the Piney Woods Elementary School trail and bird feeders for students to learn more about wildlife.

Kyra Jones create a community hygiene pantry for children and teens, and Vivian Smith collected sensory toys for neurodivergent elementary school students and spoke at monthly school district meetings keeping educators informed about the progress students made using these tools.
