Here are four new businesses opening on Milwaukee's North Shore in Glendale and Fox Point

An art studio. An indoor playground. A sports training facility. And a LEGO store.

Several new businesses have opened or are set to open in the northern suburbs of Milwaukee during the coming months. Here's what to know about a few of them:

Buy, sell and trade LEGOs at Bricks and Minifigs now open in Fox Point

Fox Point recently became home to Bricks and Minifigs, a franchise founded in Portland, Oregon, in 2009 focused on buying, selling and trading LEGO.

This new location opened at the Riverpoint Village shopping center at 8681 N. Port Washington Road on Saturday, April 20 ― around three months after a location opened in Franklin. The store is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

The store also contains an event space for birthday parties, Boy Scout or Girl Scout meetings, or special LEGO-themed events like after-school robotics clubs events, brick derby races, and more. The space will also be available for corporate workshops, mini-retreats, and team-building off-site meetings.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Bricks and Minifigs to Milwaukee’s North Shore," North Shore Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Becca Garrison said in a release announcing the opening. "This new business will no doubt offer families and LEGO enthusiasts a fun place to spark creativity and imagination."

The facility is also offering long-term leases for sports teams and leagues looking to hold regular practices on turf fields, including soccer, lacrosse, baseball, football and cheerleading, MFC Sports co-owner Roy Henning said. Hourly rentals are also available for birthdays or a group of friends who want to plan a pickup soccer game.

Interested parties will be able to book reservations online starting June 1, Henning said.

The space will feature 25-foot-tall ceilings, plenty of natural lighting and state-of-the-art turf from Hellas Construction, a company that supplies turf for a handful of stadiums in the NFL, including AT&T Stadium in Dallas and SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, Henning said.

“I’m excited to be a part of this top tier sports complex that the North Shore has needed for so long,” said Anguil-Andriacchi. “It will be the home of my soccer training company, Nex-Gen Performance, giving us the ability to give our athletes the best training atmosphere possible."
