Foster Wheeler buys Mexico's NorthAm Engineering

Foster Wheeler buys NorthAm Engineering to strengthen its position in Mexico

NEW YORK (AP) -- Swiss engineering and construction company Foster Wheeler said Tuesday that it bought Mexican company NorthAm Engineering S.A. DE CV to help strengthen its position in the region.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

NorthAm has about 400 workers, with its main operations in Monterrey, Mexico City and Poza Rica, Mexico. It has handled various projects; including upstream, offshore and onshore, downstream and power projects.

Foster Wheeler AG has approximately 13,000 employees worldwide.

Shares of Foster Wheeler rose 21 cents to $23.29 in afternoon trading.
