Fort Hays State creates ‘Family Portal’

HAYS, Kan. (KSNW) — Fort Hays State University has announced a new Family Portal.

The platform, a partnership with CampusEMP, has various features that the university says will “keep parents informed, connected, and engaged.” FHSU says research shows that students who are actively engaged in their child’s education improve their success as students.

“I know how influential our FHSU family members are to our students, and we wanted to ensure we had a specific resource for them,” said Kathleen Cook, director of retention and persistence in a news release. “This way, if their students need support, they know where to go to look for information.”

The portal includes a calendar of upcoming events, workshops, and campus activities. It also includes customizable features, like information about financial aid, athletics, and resources for out-of-state students.

To sign up for the Family portal, click here. Parents must still sign up for third-party access to access their child’s grades, class schedule, or financial information.
