- Nico Rosberg will face serious consequences after crashing into his teammate Lewis Hamilton in the Belgian Grand Prix, Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff said.

Hamilton suffered a puncdture in the second lap incident, and had to retire, Rosberg finished second to Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo to increase his lead over the Briton to 29 points with seven races to go.

"Today we've seen the limits of the slap on the wrist," said Wolff. “The slap on the wrist is not enough.

"If Lewis has said that it's going to be a slap on the wrist, and that there's going to be no consequence, then he's not aware of what consequences we can implement."
