Trinity County Sheriff Woody Wallace said that Wayne served with the sheriff’s office as a deputy and was instrumental when Wallace first became sheriff.

“This man wore many hats but for me he wore a deputy hat and wore it well. Wayne was instrumental in the early part of my Sheriff days when he helped put together the very successful inmate work program. Wayne demanded a hard days work and every inmate that worked for him on that crew had the utmost respect for him. A great man whom I respect dearly not only for his work ethics but his honesty. Go rest high on that mountain 4032, we will take it from here. 4032 is now 10-42 from Trinity County Sheriff’s Office.”
