DeAngelo Williams, long known as a Pittsburgh Steelers running back / the guy who always seemed to rack up 30 fantasy points while on your bench, is without an NFL team at the moment, and as such he’s turning his attention to other endeavors. Williams has met with Impact Wrestling, formerly TNA, and it seems he might just have a new gig:

Williams has a bit of experience in the wrestling ring, having joined with Browns tight end Gary Barnidge earlier this year to do some body-slamming in another Impact event. Williams is expected to make his Impact debut at the Slammiversary XV pay-per-view on July 2.

Williams is the latest in a long line of athletes, actors, and future presidents who’ve entered the wrestling ring. Most recently, Rob Gronkowski leaped into the fray at Wrestlemania 33 back in April. And with wrestlers now dominating Hollywood, Williams might be on his way to a more lucrative, and less concussion-laden, path than the NFL.
