Former state Rep. Joe Adams hired to senior position at Wayne Bank
Joe Adams, who stepped down as state representative for the 139th District in February, has taken a position at Wayne Bank, based in Honesdale, as senior vice president and director of wealth management and investment services, Wayne Bank President and CEO Jim Donnelly announced.
Adams has a background in finances, having served as director for Norwood Financial Corp and Wayne Bank. He resigned from that position during the Tuesday, March 19, board meeting.
In his new role at Wayne Bank, Adams will provide leadership to the bank’s wealth management and trust services department and Norwood Investment Corp.
Adams has 39 years of financial management experience. He previously was employed as a business manager, financial advisor, school superintendent and senior executive vice president of wealth management. He served as a Wayne County commissioner from 2017 until 2022, when he was elected to the House of Representatives.
In a news release, Donnelly stated, “Norwood Financial Corp and Wayne Bank have been fortunate to enjoy Joe’s extensive experience and guidance for over nine years during his tenure as Director. I am delighted that we will continue to benefit from those qualities, as well as his leadership and expertise in the field of wealth management and investment services. This is an exciting evolution for Wayne Bank and its employees, customers, and shareholders.”
Adams earned a bachelor's degree in economics and finance and an MBA in accounting and finance from the University of Scranton. He is also a certified financial planning curriculum graduate from Pace University.
Wayne Bank is a wholly owned subsidiary of Norwood Financial Corp. The bank, which was founded in 1871 in Honesdale, has 29 community offices.
