COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Former President Donald Trump will be appearing at a rally in Ohio on Saturday in support of Bernie Moreno’s campaign for U.S. Senate.

State Sen. Matt Dolan, Secretary of State Frank LaRose and businessman Moreno will face off for the Republican Party’s nominee for Senate in the primary election on March 19. The nominee will face incumbent Democrat Sen. Sherrod Brown in the general election on Nov. 5.

A SurveyUSA poll sponsored by The Center for Election Science shows how close the race may be. With a credibility interval (SurveyUSA’s margin of error equivalent) of 4.3%, the candidates were rated as:

  • Moreno: 29%

  • Dolan: 27%

  • LaRose: 21%

  • Undecided: 23%

In December 2023, Trump endorsed Moreno in a Truth Social post.

“Bernie Moreno, a highly respected businessman from the GREAT State of Ohio, is exactly the type of MAGA fighter that we need in the United States Senate,” Trump said in a Truth Social post.

In late February, Moreno was joined by Donald Trump Jr. for a rally in Butler County. The event drew a crowd of over 300 people, according to a release from the Moreno campaign.
